Technical Features

An advanced training experience based on STCW requirements

Our Ship Bridge Simulator, designed for bridge operators’ Education & Training, provides the users with a state of the art solution in terms of accuracy and realism not only for the ships motion at sea but also for the onboard instrumentations, including Radar ARPA, ECDIS, GMDSS and navigational aids.

Simulating Complex Scenarios and Environments like in the real world

The Ship Bridge Simulator is equipped with all the instrumentations that trainee can usually found on board real ship to provide an effective and realistic training.

Equipment, consoles and workstations are installed, mounted and arranged in a ship-like manner.

The system is characterized by a modular and flexible architecture in terms of future expansions allowing an easy integration of new students’ stations and new training scenarios.

Bringing Reality Into Simulation

The Steering Console includes control units for different types of ships such as: traiditional main engine, FPP/CPP, tunnel thrusters, azimutal thrusters, etc.

The simulation of own ship and target ships is based on a mathematical model with 6 degrees of freedom.

Control units are provided by KWANT CONTROLS, a specialist supplier of nautical controls since 1937 with more than 60.000 controllers installed.

The ECDIS console is equipped with the EGLOBE G2 ECDIS system already certified by DNV. The ECDIS, in addition to all the functionalities needed for navigation planning and control, is already developed to work on touchscreen technology and meets all the IMO digital navigation regulations.

Port Assessment

This configuration can be used to carry-out port assessment operations with the aim of understanding port potentials and operating efficiency.

Desktop Ship Bridge Simulator

This configuration can be used for initial training and familiarization: on board instrumentations and multiple students workstations can be easily arranged.

Full Mission Ship Bridge Simulator

A realistic replica of a Ship Bridge; equipment, consoles, workstations, software and instrumentations are installed, mounted and arranged in a ship-like manner.

Full Mission Tugboat Bridge Simulator

A realistic replica of a Tugboat Bridge; equipment, consoles, workstations, software and instrumentations are installed, mounted and arranged in a ship-like manner.

Combining in a single simulation multiple workstations types: from starter solutions to Full Mission to satisfy all the training needs.

The Instructor’s Workstation

The Instructor Workstation has been conceived, designed and implemented to provide a wide range of functionalities and to deeply control training scenarios and trainees’ performances over the time.

The own ship as well as the target ships can be fully customized; all the onboard instrumentations (Radar, ECDIS, GDMSS, etc.) can be configured to recreate all the situations that the trainee can experience on board real ships. Multiple instances of the Bridge Simulators can be controlled by a single instructor’s workstation.

The Instructor Workstation has been conceived, designed and implemented to provide a wide range of functionalities and to deeply control training scenarios and trainees’ performances over the time.

C-BridgeSim, 3D Visualization

The Visualization System of the Ship Bridge Simulator is composed by LED TV screens, with 4K Ultra HD resolution. The number of TV LED and the degree of real view can be reconfigured according to customers’ needs.

C-BridgeSim, Training Scenarios & Geographical Areas

The Ship Bridge Simulator is equipped with a full database of geographic areas including both major international ports and a number of rivers for inland navigation. Each training area recreates exactly the real geographic area and is aligned in terms of buoys, lights, harbours and any other real object, data and information.

C-BridgeSim, E-learning

C-BridgeSim can be configured to be used online in e-learning mode. The instructor and students can access an environment in which all the ship’s bridge instruments and 3D visualization can be collaboratively used and in which the exercises can be carried out remotely.

C-BridgeSim, Research & Development

The C-BridgeSim has been developed in cooperation with University of Calabria (where CAL-TEK is a spin off Company and where the main company headquarter is located) and in cooperation with other worldwide Universities.

C-BridgeSim, After Sale & Life Cycle Support
